Viacom Media Networks sales boss Jeff Lucas has been so dogged by rumors that he’s splitting for Snapchat that he called a meeting just to tell staff it isn’t true.

Viacom, still reeling from shareholder anger over CEO Philippe Dauman’s lack of progress in fielding hits, recently announced a new deal to help Snapchat sell ad inventory across the app’s platform, in addition to Viacom getting its own Snapchat Discover presence. (Viacom doesn’t rep all of Snapchat’s ads, however.)

Despite Lucas’ protestations, it looks like Snapchat boss Evan Spiegel has a fascination with Viacom, hoovering up quite a few folks from the fold.

Sources tell On the Money that Katelyn Kroneman, vice president of linear and digital ad sales, is the latest to vanish from Viacom and appear at the disappearing-message service.

A handful of other Viacom ad sales folks joined last year. One woman left immediately after returned from maternity leave, we hear.

One insider said Snapchat has been hiring sales folks from everywhere, not just Viacom, as it ramps up its revenue-grabbing efforts.

A Viacom rep declined comment.
