A former research analyst at Allen Stanford’s defunct money management firm testified yesterday that he was directed by top Stanford deputies to alter investment returns, but said the Texas financier never asked him to do anything illegal.

Stanford is on trial for an alleged $7 billion scheme that prosecutors say was used to bilk investors in more than 100 countries through sales of fraudulent certificates of deposit from his offshore bank in Antigua.
