Shares of Pier 1 Imports tumbled nearly 14 percent to $20.33 on Thursday after the home-furnishings retailer’s disappointing sales led to a profit shortfall.
The company also cut its 2013 outlook.
Before the sell-off, Pier 1′s stock had risen to $23.60 from an all-time closing low of just 11 cents a share in March 2009.
