We like nothing better than to report on a stalled development that’s no longer stalled.

The Studio Museum in Harlem, closed since 2018, is the second of six projects we characterized in April 2023 as “cursed” to finally see the light. (The reopened Waldorf-Astoria was the first.)

The enlarged museum at 144 W. 125th St., redesigned by an international team of architects, fell years behind schedule due to the pandemic and a temporary funding shortfall.

The great news is that it’s set a reopening on Nov. 15 with seven floors of galleries and related facilities.

Now, if we could only do something about the leaning tower of 1 Seaport!
