Concert giant Live Nation plans to begin selling tickets to its events directly through Facebook.
The company is expected to announce today that it is launching a new Web application, or widget, for the site called “My Live Nation” that will allow users to browse for and purchase tickets controlled by Live Nation, Ticketmaster and other vendors.
Fans signing up for accounts can also tie their music collections with Live Nation for personalized concert updates and recommendations based on their listening habits.
The Facebook feature is an extension of Live Nation’s existing online ticketing service of the same name that lives on the company’s own Web site.
