‘Tiff,’ tiffs and rifts
The Supreme Court yesterday refused to consider a Tiffany & Co. lawsuit against eBay over the sale of counterfeit jewelry on the online auction Web site.
It also refused to question a $27,750 award to music companies in a suit against a woman who was 16 when she illegally downloaded 37 songs using a file-sharing network.
In addition, the court may consider a patent law change; it agreed to hear Microsoft’s appeal in a case tied to costly changes in Word software.
