Time.com today unveils its second redesign in 16 months as the Web site breaks further from the print brand and strives to be a force in the intensely competitive battle for viewers in the 24/7 news business.

“Part of the strategy is get people to stop thinking that we’re a weekly magazine,” said John Tyrangiel, managing editor of time.com.
