The White House predicts the US will post a record $1.6 trillion budget deficit for the year ending in September, a congressional source said.
In a report to be released today, the deficit is predicted to fall to $700 billion by fiscal 2013 before gradually rising back to $1 trillion by the end of the decade, the source said. Last year the gap was $1.4 trillion.
