PARIS — Vivendi has pulled out of a race to buy the UK-based music label EMI Group, a person familiar with the matter said Thursday.
The struggling music group’s pension bill proved a sticking point during negotiations, the source said.
EMI, which is behind acts such as Katy Perry and Coldplay, was put up for sale by Citigroup.
