Yahoo Sports on Tuesday joined fantasy sports Web sites FanDuel and DraftKings in agreeing to cease taking entries from customers in New York.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who is seeking to banish fantasy sports sites, lauded Yahoo’s decision.
“New York law has long prohibited sports wagering, including betting on daily fantasy sports,” he said in a statement.
Despite the state being one of the biggest markets for daily fantasy sports, DraftKings and FanDuel, which were both sued by Schneiderman, agreed Monday to stop taking bets until a court hearing in September.
