Anwar Zakkour, one of Wall Street’s biggest media rainmakers, is taking over the technology mergers and acquisitions practice at JPMorgan.

Zakkour already leads media and telecom M&A at the bank, and with technology increasingly bleeding into those sectors, having him takeover technology M&A is a natural progression.

The lanky, soft-spoken banker, who has relationships with CEOs across the media and entertainment spectrum, will serve as a key liasion between them and the technology upstarts who are upending their businesses.

Among the deals Zakkour has advised on are: General Electric’s $30 billion sale of NBC Universal to Comcast, Ticketmaster’s $1.5 billion merger with Live Nation, XM’s $13 billion merger with Sirius, and News Corp.’s $5 billion acquisitions of Dow Jones. (News Corp. owns The Post.)
