The head coach of Fordham University’s men’s basketball team was outed on Twitter as a philanderer — apparently by his own wife.
Karen Neubauer/Twitter“Breaking the silence. Never thought Fordham HC Jeff Neubauer would lie or cheat on me but today it all comes out,” fumed an account in the name of Neubauer’s spouse of 22 years, Karen Neubauer.
“Cheaters never win. He might think that in the short term he is a winner but it will all catch up to him in the end,” another tweet seethed.
The tweets said her hubby met his “Golddigger’’ mistress, “Martina,” while in Prague in the Czech Republic.
It’s unclear why the coach would have been in Prague, but he did recruit freshman forward David Pekarek from the Czech Republic before giving him a spot on the team last year.
“22 yr marriage OVER when Jeff Neubauer met a Golddigger in Prague on a train,” said one tweet.
“Working @ a Catholic U doesn’t=morals,” it said.
The tweet was accompanied by a photo of what appeared to be the couple’s wedding rings. Edited into the image was a biting message from Karen describing how her marriage fell apart while she was stricken with an unspecified illness.
“He left when I was sick and when he signed a $500k contract,” the tweet said.
Karen Neubauer, 45, who is from New Jersey, has been tweeting out the couple’s marital trials and tribulations nearly twice a month since March, but they only started to surface in the media Tuesday. Her account is private.
Now, on the heels of his surprisingly successful first season with a so-so roster, which led to a contract extension last month, her husband, 45, must watch as their dirty laundry is aired.
Jeff Neubauer, who is originally from the New Orleans area, was awarded a contract extension — and presumably a raise — in April after coaching the Rams to a 17-14 record and a school-record 14 home wins.
Less than a week after Neubauer’s contract extension was announced, his wife tweeted, “After 17 yrs, I skipped the #FinalFour this year but hope #jeffneubauer’s other date is having a blast
