Amid a banner season for St. John’s Red Storm basketball, a new documentary series about head coach Rick Pitino premieres tonight on Vice.
“Pitino: Red Storm Rising” began filming in the fall and has followed the St. John’s basketball team throughout their entire 2024-25 campaign so far. As you’ll see in the docuseries, St. John’s got off to their best start through 18 games since the 1985-86 season this year.

Pitino, the winningest active NCAA Division I Basketball coach, began coaching at St. Johns during the 2023-24 season, and the team is in the hunt for their first-ever win in the NCAA tournament, which begins in mid-March.
