I don’t believe in signs. It’s good, because if I did I might be concerned about what Michigan’s meltdown — losing a 17-point lead with 11 minutes left — might mean for the rest of March. But signs are simply an illogical tool to connect unrelated events, a faulty device to make sense of the senseless. There are no signs that spell danger for what lies ahead.

If I type it enough, maybe I’ll believe it.

Indiana and Illinois will square off in the quarterfinals of the Big 10 Tournament. The Fighting Illini will look to advance towards the conference finals on the back of unanimous First-Team All-Big Ten big man Kofi Cockburn.

Indiana (+3.5) over Illinois

Momentum carries new meaning in March. Entering the Big Ten Tournament off a near-upset of Purdue, the Hoosiers burned countless bettors — sorry, I’ll get over it — with their improbable comeback win against Michigan, holding the Wolverines to 28 points in the second half. With an NCAA Tournament berth potentially at stake, Indiana’s defense will be the key to putting the Hoosiers in position to avenge an earlier home loss to Illinois, as it did against Michigan.
