The First Four rounds of 2025 March Madness are halfway over: two down, two to go.
After Alabama State and North Carolina secured their places in the Round of 64 last night, there are two more spots left to be claimed. First up to earn their spot in March Madness? The American Eagles and the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers will play in the first of two back-to-back games tonight.
American won this year’s Patriot League tournament, earning them an automatic bid into the big dance. Their last appearance in March Madness came in 2014 when they suffered a brutal 75-35 loss to Wisconsin in the opening round. They’re 0-3 in program history.
Their regional rivals, the Mount St. Mary Mountaineers are 2-7 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, including a First Four win in 2017.
Whoever wins tonight’s game will go on to face Cooper Flagg and Duke in the first round on Friday.
