Ohio State football fans attempted a high-profile recruiting pitch for the school’s basketball team Saturday.
With Ohio native and former Cavaliers superstar LeBron James and his son Bronny on the sidelines during the second-ranked Buckeyes’ 21-10 win over No. 5 Notre Dame, the crowd broke into a chant of “We want Bronny.”
Bronny James is entering his senior year at Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles, and he is being heavily recruited by multiple Division I schools, including Ohio State, Michigan, UCLA, USC, Memphis and Oregon, according to multiple reports.
LeBron James, who signed a two-year extension worth $97.1 million with the Lakers last month, has said repeatedly that he will sign with whatever NBA team drafts or signs his son in 2024 or 2025.
Bronny James, a 6-3 point guard, is currently the 35th-ranked player in the Class of 2023, according to ESPN’s most recent recruiting rankings.
