For the second year in a row, a No. 15 seed has snuck its way into the Sweet 16.

Princeton first took down No. 2 seed Arizona with a late rally before putting on a shooting clinic to dominate Missouri.

The Tigers take on No. 6 Creighton — coming off a dominant showing vs. No. 3 seed Baylor — with a trip to the Elite Eight at stake.

The South Region matchup tips off at 9 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.

NJ Gov. Phil Murphy celebrates Princeton's March Madness Cinderella run

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy is celebrating another college in his state going on a Cinderella run.

Following No. 15 Princeton's defeat to Creighton in the Sweet 16 on friday, Murphy tweeted his pride for the Ivy League school.

"Confidence. Teamwork. Skill. Excellence on and off the court," Murphy said. "[Princeton's] run to the Sweet 16 was one for the history books. Thank you Coach Henderson and the Tigers for representing the very best of Jersey."

Murphy's state has been a breeding ground for magical runs in March Madness for the last couple years.

Farleigh Dickinson, a No. 16 seed that hails from Teaneck, New Jersey, brought down No. 1 Purdue within the first round during this year's tournament.

Last year, then-No. 15 St. Peter's University went all the way to the Elite Eight.

Creighton finally got its bid to the Elite Eight.

The Bluejays, a perennial team in March Madness for the past five years, pushed past their previous woes to lock up their first Elite Eight bid in over 80 years.

The last time Creighton was in the Elite Eight was 1941 — during the middle of World War II.

Creighton will face San Diego State on Sunday for the chance to get its first-ever Final Four bid.

LOUISVILLE — It was some ride for Princeton, a journey that lasted a lot longer than even those closely associated with the program dared to dream.

The Princeton players, who get less media coverage than some high school teams in New Jersey, basked in the adoration of not only their Ivy League community, but the nation, advancing to the Sweet 16 for the first since 1967.

America got to know Princeton as the No. 15 seed — comprised of a locker room full of characters with unique talents and coached by a former Princeton player with an amazing tale himself in Mitch Henderson — made its stunning move through upsets of No. 2 seed Arizona and No. 7 seed Missouri last week in Sacramento.

Princeton cuts into Bluejays' lead in second half

The Tigers are crawling back from a 16-point deficit.

Through using a zone defense, the Tigers have cut Creighton's lead to 76-67 with less than four minutes remaining.

Princeton's Tosan Evbuomwan is continuing his stellar play with 22 points and eight assists.

Creighton goes all out to extend lead to double digits

Creighton's offense isn't letting up.

The Bluejays currently lead Princeton 68-52 to gain a sizable 16-point cushion with 12:19 in the second half.

Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner and forward Baylor Scheierman lead the Bluejays' offensive charge with 18 points a piece.

The Bluejays are also shooting 75 percent from the field in the second half.

Creighton came out on top in the first half.

No. 15 Princeton has held their own against No. 6 Creighton, with the Tigers' leading scorer, Tosan Evbuomwan, putting up an impressive 15 points with five assists.

Creighton has three players in double digits — Ryan Kalkbrenner (11), Trey Alexander (10), Baylor Scheierman (13) — and plans on continuing to push its strong offense to close out the Sweet 16 match.

Kyle Korver is in the house.

Korver, one of the best shooters in NBA history and a former star for Creighton, made an apperance at Louisville's KFC Yum! Center to support his college team.

The former NBA All-Star played four seasons at Creighton, where he was named an All-American during his senior year.

Princeton utilizes sharpshooting to get edge over Creighton

Princeton now has an edge against Creighton — all through the three-point shot.

The Tigers answered Creighton's high-octane offense through shooting at a high-clip beyond the arc and now lead the Blue Jays 38-35 with a little less than four minutes in the first half.

While forward Tosan Evbuomwan has controlled the paint and already has 13 points, guard Ryan Langborg has been stellar from outside with nine points.

Creighton pushes offensive tempo against Princeton in first half

The Bluejays are pushing the ball as much as they can against Princeton.

In the Friday Sweet 16 matchup, Creighton currently leads the Tigers 24-16 with 11:12 left in the first half, mainly through fast-paced points and shooting at a high efficieney.

Creighton is scorching Princeton's defense from all ends of the floor, making 10 out of 13 shots.

The Bluejays have also made four out of their six three point attempts.

Creighton's Trey Alexander and Baylor Scheierman both lead the game with eight points each.

San Diego State waits for Princeton vs. Creighton result

Princeton or Creighton already have their work cut out.

No. 5 San Diego State knocked off No. 1 Alabama on Friday 71-64, moving a step closer to the NCAA Championship.

But both the Bluejays nor the Tigers have shied away from toppling higher seeds.

No. 6 Creighton had to beat No. 3 Baylor to enter the Sweet 16.

No. 15 Princeton has continually faced Goliaths in March Madness, slaying both No. 2 Alabama and No. 7 Missouri to get a shot at advancing toward its second Elite Eight in school history.

Princeton arrived to KFC Yum! Center before Friday's Sweet 16 matchup against the Creighton Blue Jays.

To advance to March Madness' regional semifinals, No. 15 Princeton knocked off No. 2 Arizona in the first round.

Princeton blew out Missouri 78-63 last Saturday to punch its ticket to the Sweet 16.
