The University of Connecticut students and fans brought chaos to the school’s campus celebrating UConn’s 76-59 national championship win over San Diego State in Houston on Monday night.

The Storrs, Conn., campus erupted into madness after the game ending, ringing in the Huskies’ first Men’s NCAA championship win since 2014 in Philadelphia-like fashion.

In videos and photos circulating on Twitter, fans and students climb lampposts, take down lampposts, and use them as battering rams to smash through the doors of a campus building.

WTNH also reported that fans flipped cars, broke windows, and climbed buildings.

Many students had been watching the game on campus at Gampel Pavilion before filling the street in celebration.

Outside of lampposts, what appeared to be a small active fire on campus had erupted before fire trucks came onto the scene.

The Huskies dominated this men’s tournament with ease, winning all its games by double digits.

UConn didn’t have to face a No. 3 seed or above in this tournament, and, as such, they never trailed in the second half of their last four games and were ahead by at least 18 buckets in all six tournament games.

After losing in the first round for two consecutive years, coach Dan Hurley and his team find themselves back on top of college basketball.

The Huskies won each tournament game by double figures, putting themselves among few top teams to have accomplished the feat — the last being Villanova in 2018.

Monday night’s championship game proved to be the same.

Even though the Aztecs started off strong, the Huskies always had an answer and concluded their run with another dominant win that whipped up a frenzy on its campus.
