MEET Lara Logan, “60 Minutes II’s” new intrepid correspondent and the war reporter for Britain’s version of “Good Morning America” on ITV – a former swimsuit model nicknamed “34D Lara” by the British press.
Logan, 32, takes over at “60 II” for Carol Marin – the award-winning broadcaster who almost died covering the World Trade Center attacks – and who was dumped by CBS News last February when she and her two producers were told the network couldn’t afford to renew their contracts when they expire next month.
But the Chicago Sun-Times reports that CBS News did manage to pony up $1 million for Logan, who was reportedly reprimanded by military officials earlier this year for wearing “low-cut tops” and “skimpy outfits” and for “shamelessly flaunting her gender” while covering the troops in Afghanistan.
Under the headline “Put those Bazookas away, Lara” a London tabloid quoted military officials complaining about her conduct and appearance.
