English actress Keira Knightley broke it off with her longtime boyfriend, fellow actor Rupert Friend, The Sun newspaper reported Thursday.
“Yes, they have broken up,” Knightley’s actor father, Will, told The Sun, adding that the two split around Christmas-time.
“That’s the way things go, unfortunately… She’s focused on her work,” he added.
The 25-year-old actress met Friend, 29, when they both starred in the 2005 film adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel “Pride and Prejudice.”
Knightley received an Academy Award-nomination for playing the lead role of Elizabeth Bennet. Friend played the role of the unworthy George Wickham, who leaves Bennet to run off with her younger sister Lydia.
