THE National League’s leaky pen and a thrilling American League comeback translated into healthy All-Star Game numbers on Fox.

Over 14 million viewers tuned into Tuesday’s All-Star Game, which was decided in the ninth – when the AL stunned NL closer Trevor Hoffman by scoring twice with two outs for a 3-2 victory in Pittsburgh.

Tuesday’s game was the most-watched All-Star Game since 2002 (14.7 million viewers) and represented a 17 percent viewership increase over last year (12.3 million).

Fox snared a 9.3 rating for the game, a 15 percent ratings increase over last year.

Tuesday also represented the first time since 2001 that the All-Star game registered year-to-year ratings increases.

It was also only the third time in the last 10 years it outrated the NBA All-Star Game.

Here in New York, ratings for Tuesday’s game were up 19 percent over last year on Ch. 5.

A record six Mets were voted onto this year’s team, while four Yankees got the nod.

Around 31.2 million people watched all or part of the game, according to Nielsen.
