Country singer and “American Idol” alumnus Kellie Pickler married songwriter Kyle Jacobs on New Year’s Day in a surprise ceremony on a Caribbean beach, People magazine reported Tuesday.

The two lovebirds had a “small, intimate ceremony on a private island in the Caribbean,” her rep told the celebrity magazine.

The 24-year-old “Red High Heels” singer began dating Jacobs, 36, in 2008 and the two became engaged in June 2010.

“It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life,” the North Carolina native said of the proposal on a Florida beach. “We had a little champagne and talked and laughed and cried.”

In 2006, Pickler was a contestant on the fifth season of “American Idol,” finishing in sixth place.
