Fantasia Barrino is returning to Broadway.

The “American Idol” winner will star in the stage musical “After Midnight” about Duke Ellington’s days at The Cotton Club. She will make her debut Oct. 18.

In 2007, Barrino joined the cast of Broadway’s “The Color Purple.”
