“Oppenheimer” was the night’s big winner at the Oscars, taking home the gold for best picture, best director (Christopher Nolan), best actor (Cillian Murphy), best supporting actor (Robert Downey Jr.) and several more.

Emma Stone looked absolutely stunned to win best actress for “Poor Things,” and as the now two-time Oscar winner suffered a wardrobe malfunction on her way to the stage, she joked that “it happened during ‘I’m Just Ken’ ” — Ryan Gosling’s sparkly, pink, perfect performance of the “Barbie” song, that came complete with karaoke.

Oh, and an almost entirely naked John Cena was there too.

Jimmy Kimmel returned to host the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 10, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the funnyman’s fourth stint as the ceremony’s emcee.

Everything that happened at the 2024 Oscars

Michelle Pfeiffer misses Oscars, reunion with ‘Scarface’ co-star Al Pacino for ‘personal family reasons’: report

By Richard Pollina

There were no friends, little or large, joining Tony Montana at the Oscars Sunday night.

The stage was set for Al Pacino, 83, to appear with Michelle Pfeiffer, 65, to present Best Picture and all signs pointed to a reunion of 1983’s smash hit “Scarface,” which was released 40 years ago in December 2023.

However, audience members were shocked to see the Academy Award-winning actor take the stage solo to present the final award of the evening.

The 2024 Oscars were a giant snooze fest — again

We all knew who was going to win. We’ve known for months, really.

At Sunday night’s snooze-o-rama Oscars, “Oppenheimer” deservedly took home seven trophies: best picture, director (Christopher Nolan), actor (Cillian Murphy), supporting actor (Robert Downey Jr.), cinematography, score and editing.

It wasn’t a brutal beatdown. “Poor Things,” starring Emma Stone, snapped three technical awards away from it (as well as a Best Actress honor for Stone), and Cord Jefferson’s “American Fiction” deprived the atom bomb movie of Best Adapted Screenplay.

But it came off nuclear regardless.

Nolan’s British accent made the night feel all the more like the coronation it was. Well, except for the fact that the crowning of King Charles III only took an hour. If only.

Trump calls ‘washed-up’ Jimmy Kimmel ‘Worse Host’ ever of Oscars 2024 : ‘Get rid, perhaps replace him’

By Taylor Knight
DONALD TRUMP OSCARS KIMMEL
Donald Trump called out Jimmy Kimmel for being the worse Oscars host ever.

Make the Oscars great again!

Former President Donald Trump couldn’t help but share his concerns and grievances about the 96th Academy Awards, held in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.

“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be.”

While the rest of America indulged in the shady comments, awkward moments and quirky Oscars humor, Trump apparently couldn’t bear to watch Kimmel host Hollywood’s biggest night.

“Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed-up but cheap ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos wrote on March 10. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous,” Trump wrote.

It was an explosive night for “Oppenheimer.”

The 2024 Oscars were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on Sunday, March 10, airing on ABC (in the new earlier time slot of 7 p.m.).

The Christopher Nolan flick starring Cillian Murphy was this year’s frontrunner, with a staggering 13 nominations — including for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for Murphy and Robert Downey Jr., respectively.

The Best Actor race was a battle between Murphy, Bradley Cooper (“Maestro”), Paul Giamatti (“The Holdovers”), Colman Domingo (“Rustin”) and Jeffrey Wright (“American Fiction”).

Murphy took home the expected win, and Nolan and Downey Jr. also won big for “Oppenheimer” while the movie took home the Best Picture prize.

Emma Stone: My dress broke during 'I'm Just Ken'

By Kaydi Pelletier

As a genuinely-shocked looking Emma Stone made her way to the stage to accept her best-actress Oscar for "Poor Things," she could be seen mouthing "my dress! my dress!" to the stars who presented it.

"My dress is broken," she said, turning to show the audience the back of her seafoam-colored peplum gown.

"I think it happened during 'I'm Just Ken.' "

Emma Stone wins Best Actress

By Jack Hobbs

In a shocking upset, Emma Stone beat out Lily Gladstone for the title of Best Actress.

Announcing that her dress was broken, Stone was nearly speechless as she accepted the award.

A very flustered Stone thanked all her fellow nominees before stating that she was so thankful to everyone in her family.

Nicholas Cage on the lengths Paul Giamatti went to for 'The Holdovers'

By Kaydi Pelletier

As one of the former best-actor Oscar winners to take the stage to give props to this year's nominees, Nicholas Cage noted how Paul Giamatti wore a contact lense to make him blind in one eye for the entire duration of filming "The Holdovers," saying playfully, "Would I have done that? Hell yes. But you did it too."

To no one's surprise, Christopher Nolan managed to secure the win for his film "Oppenheimer."

In his speech, Nolan thanked his incredible cast and the "incredible crew" that they managed to put together for the film.
