It was a night of firsts at the Oscars 2025, as comedian Conan O’Brien was fantastically funny in his first turn at emcee of the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

“Anora” star Mikey Madison won her first Oscar, in a huge upset as she beat frontrunner Demi Moore — who also would have been taking home her first Academy Award at age 62. “Anora” also took Best Picture and four more awards at Sunday’s ceremony.

Zoe Saldana and Kieran Culkin both won their first Academy Awards, with the “Emilia Perez” supporting actress calling out for her “Mami!” who was in the audience with Saldana’s “whole family” to see her big moment.

Culkin was censored during his Best Supporting Actor acceptance speech, and the “A Real Pain” actor went on to reveal that his wife promised to agree to have four kids if he won the award.

Live updates have ended, but keep reading to catch up on everything that happened at the Oscars, from red carpet stars to the Best-Picture winner.

Classy Timmy.

Timothée Chalamet failed to walk away with the coveted Best Actor trophy at the 2025 Oscars, which would’ve made him the youngest winner in the category ever. He was nominated for playing Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown.”

Adrien Brody didn’t know what to do with his gum while accepting his Oscar for best actor on Sunday — so he tossed it to his girlfriend, Georgina Chapman.

The “Brutalist” star realized he was still chewing as he walked up the stairs to the stage and blew kisses to the awards show’s audience.

“The Substance” star lost out on the coveted award to Mikey Madison, 25, who won for her role in “Anora” at Sunday night’s star-studded ceremony.

The actress quickly recovered and started clapping for Madison, who beat out fellow nominees Fernanda Torres, Karla Sofía Gascón and Cynthia Erivo.

Selena Gomez and Karla Sofía Gascón have awkward exchange at 2025 Oscars after alleged ‘rich rat’ remark

By Nika Shakhnazarova

Selena Gomez and her “Emlilia Perez” co-star, Karla Sofía Gascón, were forced to come face-to-face at the 2025 Oscars — months after Gascón’s scathing remarks about Gomez.

The duo rubbed shoulders with the Hollywood elite on Sunday night, where Gascón was nominated for Best Actress but ultimately lost out to “Anora” star Mikey Madison.

The star-studded event came just weeks after several of Gascón’s’s past social media posts resurfaced, in which she criticized Muslim culture and George Floyd.

She even allegedly called Gomez a “rich rat” before being cast with her in “Emilia Perez.”

In a now-viral exchange, Gascón — who skipped the red carpet — was seen walking over to Gomez, who was sat in her seat during the Oscars ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

As Gascón, 52, approached the “Love On” singer, Gomez stood up, and awkwardly kissed her co-star on the cheek before sitting back down.

Best actor nominee Colman Domingo rocks the party during a commercial break

By Chuck Arnold

Colman Domingo may have lost out for best actor to Adrien Brody at the Oscar on Sunday.

But the “Sing Sing” actor took top honors for “best party starter” during a commercial break at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Sipping and shaking it onstage, Domingo led a dance party to Frankie Beverly and Maze’s classic “Before I Let You Go.”

Rocking a double-breasted red and black tuxedo from Valentino, he had everybody on their feet, shouting out to best actress nominee Cynthia Erivo.

It certainly didn’t look as if Domingo was too worried about losing out for best actor for the second year in a row after lear’s year nomination for “Rustin” — a back-to-back feat last accomplished by Denzel Washington in 2017-18.

Brody kissed his girlfriend, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, and hugged his co-stars, and then he tossed his gum to Chapman, as he went on stage to accept the award from last year's winner, "Oppenheimer" star Cillian Murphy.

"If I may just humbly begin by giving thanks for the tremendous outpouring of love for this world and every individual who has treated me with respect and appreciation," he said in his emotional speech. "I feel so fortunate."

He went on to recognize his fellow nominees, his castmates including Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones, director Brady Corbet, and Chapman and her two children that she shares with ex-husband Harvey Weinstein.

"Dash and India, I know it's been a rollercoaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life, and Popsy's coming home a winner," he said in his message to Chapman's kids.

When the Oscars music started playing, Brody told them to turn it off and promised to keep the rest of his speech brief. "Not my first rodeo," he joked.

He then gave a shoutout to his parents for creating "such a strong foundation of respect and kindness and a wonderful spirit. They've given me the strength to pursue this dream."

Brody finished his speech by advocating against anti-semitism and racism and said, "I pray for a happier and healthier and more inclusive world."
