A “Bachelorette” contestant has been found dead.

The body of 35-year-old Julien Hug, who wooed Season 5 “Bachelorette” Jillian Harris last year, was found in a remote area off a highway in Riverside County, Calif., reports a TV station in San Diego.

Hug was reported missing by his family last Monday.

His father, Bertrand Hug, a well-known San Diego restaurant owner, said that nobody had heard from Hug since his phone went dead while he was driving on the highway, leading authorities to search for him near Joshua Tree National Park.

Hug was traveling to Palm Desert to help manage the family’s newest restaurant.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department found a body near a car similar to the one that Hug was driving in an off-roading area. Hug’s family confirmed the identity of the body.

The cause of death is currently unknown, but authorities expect to have the results of the autopsy tomorrow.
