It’s not a real scandal unless it’s made into a Lifetime movie, so it is perfect that Casey Anthony’s story is headed to the cable channel.

The rights to Casey Anthony prosecutor Jeff Ashton’s book “Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony,” was optioned by Fox TV Studios to be made into a Lifetime movie, according to Variety. The book tells the Anthony story from the prosecution team’s point of view, and was only released yesterday.

Lifetime has not greenlit the project yet, but if they do, the Anthony story will join other ripped-from-the-headlines movies on Lifetime like 2009’s “Natalee Holloway.”
