It’s a May December relationship. 

Holland Taylor, 81, recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, where she talked about her relationship with her partner, Sarah Paulson, 49.

The two actresses have been romantically linked for nearly a decade, since 2015. 

“We do have a wonderful resonance. We are very interested in the same kinds of things and yet we share big differences,” said Taylor.

“I mean, we have a big generational difference between us, which worries me for her sake. But she, you know, what can I do?”

Taylor, who won an Emmy for ABC’s “The Practice” and is also known for “Two and a Half Men” and “The Truman Show,” said about Paulson, “A lot of the things that she’s going through that are very emotional and important to her right now, I went through, you know, 40 years ago, 30 years ago.”

Taylor added, “And she brings them up in my memory and I think, ‘Oh, of course this is hard. Of course, that’s hard,’ or ‘Of course that’s great. Of course, that’s important to her.’”

Taylor added that their age difference isn’t all bad, however, because she found “joy” in watching Paulson win her first Tony this year for “Appropriate” and “all the awards she won.”

Paulson won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story.” 

“I mean, I think she won every award you could win. That joy was so thrilling to see,” said Taylor. 

Despite their longterm relationship, Taylor revealed that they will probably never marry.

“I don’t think so. We never, no. We’ve never talked about it with any interest. It doesn’t seem to mean to us what it means to a lot of people.”

Even more, she previously told the “Smartless” podcast that the couple “don’t live together.”

“That’s the sort of secret,” she said of their successful romance.

In 2023, Taylor also told Page Six that she thinks their differences help keep the spark alive.

“I think we each follow our own path so we’re not exactly the same,” she said at the time.

“We do some things separately so everyone gets to be true to what they believe,” she continued. “She’s much more social, and I like a little bit of alone time, so I have that. She spends some time with friends and not with me, so it’s a good balance.”

One of their separate interests is the “Real Housewives” shows, which Paulson watches, Taylor told Cohen. 

“I often come upon [Paulson] hunched over her iPad, you know, eating popcorn like a guilty pleasure watching all the Housewives shows,” she told the Bravo host. 

“I mean, I can’t believe how much you do,” she added. “Yes, of course I get sucked in when she’s watching … I think she watches old videos on there. She’s obsessed.”
