Prince Harry is remembering Queen Elizabeth II on the eve of the anniversary of her death.
The estranged Duke of Sussex, who turns 39 on Sept. 15, honored his late grandmother in London on Thursday at the WellChild Awards, an annual celebration for a charity benefitting seriously ill children and the professionals who help care for them.
“As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year as my grandmother passed away,” the red-headed royal, who has supported the charity for more than a decade, told the audience, per People.
“As you also probably know, she would have been the first person to insist that I still come to be with you all instead of going to her.”
He continued: “And that’s precisely why I know, exactly one year on, she is looking down on all of us tonight, happy we’re together continuing to spotlight such an incredible community.”

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, 42, were forced to cancel their appearance at last year’s awards after doctors grew “concerned” over the queen’s health.
Harry quickly flew to Scotland, where the monarch died in Balmoral Castle.

The Post has contacted reps for Harry and Markle for comment.

“There is a severe lack of trust, and they don’t want the conversation repeated to anyone,” Schofield recently told Fox News.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be visiting St. David’s Cathedral in South Wales on Friday to host a memorial for the queen.
Harry and Markle were reportedly not invited to the event.
The two couples have been estranged for years, especially since Harry and Markle decamped to California in 2020 and Harry published his tell-all memoir, “Spare,” in January.
Markle was expected to join Harry next week at the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, but it’s unclear if that will happen.
