Prince William beamed from ear to ear as he stepped out for the first time since the positive cancer update for his wife, Kate Middleton.

The Prince of Wales, 42, sported a rugged look featuring facial stubble as he was welcomed by cheering crowds outside a school in Wales on Tuesday.

Well-wishers braved the windy weather to share their supportive messages for Middleton, 42, who on Monday revealed that she has finished chemotherapy treatment and is now cancer-free.

As William thanked fans for their kind words, the heir to the throne did caution that while “it’s good news, there’s still a long way to go” in his wife’s cancer journey.

The presumptive next king — who was unaccompanied by the Princess of Wales — met with students and staffers at a local school, before visiting the Llanelli headquarters of the Wales Air Ambulance Charity, of which he is a patron.

Following his visit, William took to social media to reciprocate the warm welcome he had received.

“Hello, Llanelli! Great to be back in Wales,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Thanks to the brilliant pupils of Swiss Valley Community Primary School, lovely to see you all 👋.”

The official engagement came less than a day after Princess Catherine shared a heartwarming video on social media in which she gave a positive update on her diagnosis.

“I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she said in the video shared on X.

“Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”

The 42-year-old royal has been out of the public eye for most of the year, after revealing in March that she was being treated for an undisclosed type of cancer.

The mother of three said she was now “looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”

Kate went on to thank those who have supported her in her monthslong battle with the disease.

As part of the major health update, Kensington Palace also released rare, loved-up footage of the presumptive future queen with her husband and their three children — Prince George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

The three-minute clip, which was shot in Norfolk over the summer, offered a glimpse of Kate and William holding hands, kissing and embracing.

Kate, who previously spoke of having both good and bad days during her treatment, last appeared in public for the men’s final at Wimbledon in July alongside her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister, Pippa Middleton.
