Italians give Queen Camilla a pizza to celebrate her 20th wedding anniversary to King Charles

By Alexandra Bellusci

The Queen and King have a slice of our hearts.

And in honor of their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Queen Camilla was given a Margherita pizza while visiting a school in Rome during their trip to Italy.

Shots showed the royal greeting the public and smiling next to the open box of pizza.

Later Wednesday, Camilla paid tribute to their union by donning a repurposed version of the ivory silk outfit she wore on her wedding day in 2005 as she joined Charles at a joint session of the Italian Parliament in Rome — where he made history as the first British king to speak at the gathering of Italy's lawmakers.

According to the BBC, the King, 76, and Queen, 77, are set to celebrate their anniversary at a state banquet at the Quirinale Palace. The event, which will boast celebrities and dignitaries, also showcases local food during the evening celebration.

A then-Prince Charles met Camilla more than 50 years ago, during a polo match at Windsor Great Park in 1970, the BBC reports.

But reports vary, as according to People, the pair actually met two years later at a social gathering, where then-25-year-old Camilla Shand "sassily" told the prince, "My great-grandmother was the mistress of your great-great-grandfather. I feel we have something in common."

Camilla ended up marrying Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973 when Charles left for naval duties. Camilla and Andrew had two kids together, daughter Laura and son Tom, before divorcing.

Charles then met the late Princess Diana a few years later.

After their engagement in 1981, Diana discussed their first introduction while on a television broadcast: “It was 1977, Charles came to stay. He was a friend of my sister Sarah’s. [He came] for a [hunting] shoot. We sort of met in a plowed field.”

Of course, Charles and Diana had sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, before splitting in 1992 and divorcing four years later.

Reports have long said that King Charles and the Queen allegedly rekindled their relationship in 1986, with Diana — who died at age 36 in 1997 — famously stating in a 1995 interview, "There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded," referring to Camilla.

King Charles and Queen Camilla married 20 years ago today: Look back at their royal wedding

King Charles and Queen Camilla are celebrating a significant milestone Wednesday during their state visit to Italy, as April 9 marks their 20th wedding anniversary.

The couple's nuptials took place in 2005 at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, following their civil service wedding at the Guildhall in Windsor.

Camilla, formerly the Duchess of Cornwall, was given the title of "Princess Consort" when she married then-Prince Charles, as a way to appease the public who blamed her for their affair and the ensuing breakdown of his marriage to Princess Diana. The Princess of Wales famously said their union ended because there were “three of us in this marriage.”

Queen Elizabeth II shut down public debate over whether Camilla should ever be queen when she declared in 2022 that it was her "sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort."

Harry wrote in his controversial 2023 memoir "Spare" that he “begged” his father not to marry again.

“Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead,” he wrote. “We recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved.”

Meghan Markle’s new podcast ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ hit with scathing reviews from critics: ‘Stomach-turning’

By Nika Shakhnazarova

Meghan Markle’s new podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder,” has already been mercilessly dragged by critics — despite premiering some 24 hours ago.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, on Tuesday dropped the first episode of the podcast, which featured Markle’s longtime friend and Bumble dating app founder, Whitney Wolfe Herd.

In its two-star review, The Guardian said the "sycophantic interview podcast is stomach-turning." Spotify

In the 50-minute episode, the “Suits” alum attempted to dissect Wolfe Herd’s rise to success. However, countless critics have since insisted that Markle failed to ask the hard-hitting questions listeners wanted to hear and instead redirected conversations “towards her own experiences.”

In its scathing one-star review, titled “Meghan’s vapid lessons in self-love,” The Times of London‘s columnist James Marriott was “seized by an urge to beat my head against the wall” after listening to the episode.

Prince Harry's lawyers say he and Meghan Markle 'felt forced to step back' from royal roles

By Sean Mandell

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step down from their roles as senior members of the royal family was driven by their sense of not being protected by the monarchy, according to the prince's lawyers.

The claim was revealed in a London court on Tuesday, per People, as Prince Harry continues his fight against the UK government's decision to downgrade his security following his and Meghan's 2020 decision to bid adieu to royal duties.

Prince Harry departs after attending court for his appeal against the rejection of his legal challenge to the British government's decision to take away his police protection when he is in Britain, outside the High Court in London, Britain, April 8, 2025.

Lawyers for the Duke of Sussex, 40, said in the appeal hearing that he and the Duchess of Sussex "felt forced to step back from the role of full time official working members of The Royal Family as they considered they were not being protected by the institution.”

The pair "wished to continue their duties in support of the late Queen as privately funded members of The Royal Family," the lawyers added.

A high court judge in the UK has previously rejected Harry's bid to overturn the government's decision to remove his taxpayer-funded his security (which the prince has offered to pay for personally). Undeterred, Harry is appealing the judge's ruling and was in court for Tuesday's hearing, which will continue on Wednesday.

Prince Harry claims he was ‘singled out for inferior treatment’ after losing taxpayer-funded UK security as he arrives at London court

By Nika Shakhnazarova

Prince Harry has claimed he was “singled out for inferior treatment” after he was stripped of his taxpayer-funded security protection in the UK.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, arrived at London’s High Court Tuesday for the start of a two-day appeal to win back publicly-funded security detail for him and his family.

Speaking in court, Harry’s attorney Shaheed Fatima KC claimed that the former working royal had been “singled out for different, unjustified and inferior treatment.”

Harry complained about not feeling safe enough to return to his home soil with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, because “it is too dangerous.”

The duke’s lawyers added that the UK’s treatment of him was “unlawful and unfair,” and warned of “the impact on the UK’s reputation of a successful attack” against him.
