Eugenie concluded, “I’m thinking of you up there friend, of your spirit that was so bright and your joy you brought so many.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales shocked commuters Wednesday morning as they took the train to Wales for their royal trip.
Prince William, 42, and Kate Middleton, 43, who are known for taking royal motorcades or helicopters for royal engagements, decided to take a different route for their Wales trip ahead of the national holiday, St. David's Day.

After arriving in Cardiff, Wales on Wednesday, the royal couple made their way to The Welsh Cake Shop in Pontypridd where they not only learned more about Welsh cakes, but were taught how to make them by shop owner Theresa Conner.
“Apparently, Kate is a very keen baker with [her children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6], and she is going to try her hand and make some with us," Connor told PEOPLE ahead of Will and Kate's arrival.

Connor showed the royal couple how to cook the tasty pastries on a cast iron stovetop.
"You'll have to sell these for half price," the future king joked.
Prince William and Kate made Pontypridd a key focus during their Wales trip because the town was severely damaged by Storm Bert and Storm Darraugh in November and December of last year.

“It’s lovely and an honor for Pontypridd to have a visit. They are coming to visit Pontypridd where a lot of people have been affected here by the floods," Conner said. "And for them to do so will help boost people in the town and raise our profile. A lot of our customers are very excited about it and are here trying to get a glimpse of them.”

Thousands of people lined up in the streets to meet the royal couple as they visited Welsh for the national holiday, as seen in these photos shared Wednesday on the Prince and Princess of Wales' Instagram Story.
The flower is not only Wales' national flower but is also a symbol of St. David's Day.
The outing is the second public appearance for the royal couple, following their attendance at a London Holocaust Memorial Day Service on Jan 27, shortly after Kate announced her cancer was in remission.
Meghan Markle’s new As Ever brand has effectively been banned from selling clothing because the name is too similar to a Chinese fast-fashion company of the same name.
In documents obtained by The Post, the Duchess of Sussex’s legal team applied for permission at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to sell aprons and other items under the new name in October 2022.
But the “Suits” alum, 43, received a “partial rejection” in July 2023, which stated that she could not sell clothing because the name of her brand was too similar to the Chinese company ASEVER.

“The marks are identical in sound and virtually identical in appearance and are thus confusingly similar for the purposes of determining likelihood of confusion,” the rejection document read.
Prince William and Kate Middleton's former head of communications says the couple have no interest in the "fame and celebrity" that comes with their jobs as Prince and Princess of Wales.
Jason Knauf, who also worked with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before they stepped down as working members of the royal family in 2020, recently told 60 Minutes Australia that "neither the prince or the princess would choose to be public figures."
“They’re not that interested in the fame and celebrity that comes with it. In fact, not really interested at all. I think that makes it quite interesting in today’s world to see people out there doing their jobs but for the right reasons.”

When asked about the duo’s soaring popularity, Knauf said that they don’t try to control the narrative on social media.
Knauf also downplayed his role in helping craft William and Kate's public image and boost their popularity.
King Charles’ consort, 77, revealed the news about the royal family’s newest member during a trip to Canterbury in southeast England on Tuesday.
“I’ve just got a new puppy who’s eight weeks old,” Camilla told a well-wisher who turned out for her visit.
Asked what kind of dog she adopted, the Queen responded, “Well, you may well ask! It’s a bit of everything. It’s a rescue dog.”
During the exchange, captured in a video posted on X by the Daily Mail’s Rebecca English, Camilla also shared that the dog is named Moley because it “looks just like a mole!”
Reportedly a female puppy whose mother is half Jack Russell Terrier, the Queen’s new dog was adopted from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home — the same shelter where Camilla adopted her other rescue dog, Bluebell.
Just last November, another of the Queen’s rescue pups, her Jack Russell Terrier, Beth, passed away.
Queen Camilla was in Canterbury to unveil a statue of Canterbury-born writer Aphra Behn, the popular 17th century playwright thought to be the first professional female writer in the English language who also served as a spy for King Charles II.

Jason Knauf spilled his thoughts on the beard, and apparently Kate's, in a new interview with 60 Minutes Australia.
"I love it. I think it's great," Knauf said. "But I've talked to him about it — or tried to talk to him about it. He's like, 'It's here. I have a beard.' No further conversation.'"
When asked how he knows the Princess of Wales, 43, loves the scruff William, 42, has been donning, Knauf bluntly replied, "If she didn't like it, it wouldn't be there. I could tell you that."
Knauf formerly worked as a communications secretary to William and Kate, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, until taking on the role of chief executive for the Wales' Royal Foundation, where he served until 2021. Now, he works with the Prince of Wales as a board member for the Earthshot Prize that recognizes environmentalism.
Since then, the whiskers have come and gone, with one member of the royal family not a fan of the look: Princess Charlotte, 9, who "didn't like it the first time," her father said.

"I got floods of tears — the first one I got tears, so I had to shave it off," William said. “Then I grew it back. I thought, 'Hang on a second,' and I convinced her it was going to be okay."
The concert announcement comes two years after the sold-out Heritage Live concerts in 2023 — also at the royal family's Norfolk estate — where Van Morrison, The Who, and Robbie Williams played.
"We're absolutely thrilled to bring one of the greatest pop artists of all-time to the Royal Sandringham Estate for an exclusive UK headline show," Giles Cooper of Heritage Live Festivals said. "Mariah Carey is an award-winner, a record-breaker, and an absolute global icon — this show will be historic.
"Mariah's live show is second to none and with such a catalogue of huge hit singles, it’s going to be an incredible occasion. It will most definitely be an 'I was there' event that will live in all of our memories forever."
The Welsh rock band Stereophonics will play at Sandringham on Aug. 16, and Michael Bublé will headline Aug. 17.

Being made a knight or a dame is one of the highest honors in the United Kingdom, given to people — military members, actors, scientists, teachers and more — who have made a significant contribution to their field, according to the royal family's official website.
Eagle-eyed fans of the royals were quick to point out the parallels between an outfit Meghan Markle wore in a Sunday social media video with an iconic 1996 ensemble worn by her mother-in-law, the late Princess Diana.
Markle shared Instagram Stories about her Sunday afternoon at home in Montecito, California, doing activities like walking around the neighborhood and watering plants with her children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. In the clips, she was seen wearing a Northwestern University sweatshirt, identical to one Diana once wore.

Diana was gifted a purple Northwestern sweater after when she visited the university on a trip to Chicago in June 1996. Just three years later, Markle formed her own relationship with the prestigious university, as a student. The future Duchess of Sussex graduated from Northwestern in 2003 with a double major in international studies and theater.
In 2014, the "Suits" actress returned to her alma mater and told its North by Northwestern magazine, “It’s surreal being back because I haven’t been back since I graduated, and as I am walking around I remember things like the schlep of getting to South Campus from up north. The 24-hour Burger King also definitely helped me put on the freshman fifteen.”

The former cavalry officer — who had an affair with the Princess of Wales between 1986 and 1991, which she publicly admitted to in a 1995 BBC interview — believes she would have attempted to mend the rift.
"I think any mother would be worried and concerned about such a rift, as you put it, and she'd do her best to try and get them together," Hewitt said.
The 66-year-old made his TV appearance to discuss Operation Safedrop, which is delivering humanitarian aid to Ukraine — an initiative he claimed Princess Diana would have "undoubtedly" supported.
