A year ago today, the palace issued two shocking announcements that rocked the world - from across the pond and beyond.
First, Buckingham Palace announced that Kate Middleton had been hospitalized the day before for "planned abdominal surgery," while King Charles was set to undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate the following week.
However, a month later, on February 5th, the palace shared the news that King Charles was diagnosed with cancer and had begun treatment.
"During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," the palace said in their statement at the time.
And a month after that, on March 22, 2024, the Princess of Wales shared that she was receiving treatment for cancer, which had been detected after undergoing the abdominal surgery.
"This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family," Princess Kate said in the speech filmed in the garden of Windsor.
Fast-forward to September, and Middleton has since completed treatment.
“I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate announced in a statement on X.
The Patriarch, meanwhile, is expected to continue treatment into 2025. Palace sources confirmed to The Post in December that “his treatment has been moving in a positive direction, and as a managed condition the treatment cycle, will continue into next year.”
