Will and Kate nod to Prince George's upcoming 12th birthday in new Instagram video

By Sarah Ng

Here's to the (almost) birthday prince!

Prince William and Princess Catherine of Wales shared a video Thursday on Instagram with a connection to one of their precious family memories — and their eldest child's upcoming birthday.

While George, 11, doesn't appear in the serene, butterfly-filled video — promoting the UK's Big Butterfly Count, a conservation effort that asks people to record how many they see to help determine environmental health — it's an understated nod to his July 22 birthday, and a throwback to when he turned 1.

Back in 2014, Will and Kate marked their first baby's first birthday by releasing photos from a family visit to a Sensational Butterflies exhibit at London's Natural History Museum.

The sweet series of pics shows a chubby-cheeked George fascinated by the flying insects — reaching for one that had landed on William's hand — and most notably, taking some of his first steps.

George, who turns 12 Tuesday, has of course since become big brother to sister Charlotte, 10, and brother Louis, 7.

Exclusive: What Prince George's viral 'manager face' at Wimbledon reveals about his unusual personality, according to body language expert

By Sarah Ng

He's ready to play ball.

Prince George has gone viral for the "manager face" he sported at the Wimbledon finals on Sunday — and now an expert is revealing what the royal tween's "unusually mature" expression says about the future king.

“What we’re seeing here is a classic ‘evaluation glare’ — brows drawn together, lips neutral or slightly compressed, and a steady gaze," John Eastham, private investigator and body language analyst at Private Investigations UK, said.

"It’s a look adults use to project authority or control, often when assessing a situation they don’t like. For an 11-year-old to display that? It’s unusually mature.”

George's expressions as he watched the tennis tournament from the Royal Box quickly got the meme treatment.

One social media user compared the young prince compared to a “manager about to unleash a major tactical tweak in the 72nd minute of the FA Cup final,” with another joking that he was betting on Spain's Carlos Alcaraz, who lost to Italy's Jannik Sinner in the mens' singles match.

"Why does Prince George look like this is not what he wants, this is not what he planned, and he's just gotta say he does not understand?" another X user wrote, referencing lyrics sung by drama queen Sharpay Evans in the 2006 Disney movie "High School Musical."

The public's reaction offers a glimpse at what the future king will have to contend with as he grows up, the body language expert said.

“The fact that this image has gone so viral shows how much scrutiny Gen‑Alpha public figures now face," Eastham said. "For young royals, growing up in this new era means their every move is memed before it's understood.

"Royals are coached from a young age to manage emotion in public, and this moment is a glimpse of George navigating that tightrope between being a child and a future King,” he added.

The young royal, 11, made a surprise appearance at the famed sporting event in London with his sister, Charlotte, 10, and parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine of Wales.

Camilla's life in photos, from flower girl to Queen of England

In celebration of Queen Camilla's 78th birthday Thursday, here's a selection of Her Majesty's photos through the years:

Prior to King Charles, Camilla was married to Andrew Parker-Bowles for 22 years, until 1995.

1980

Camilla and Princess Diana, who was with Charles at the time and would marry him a year later, attended a horserace race he was competing in.

After their 1996 divorce, Diana famously said, “There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded" — which many people took as confirmation that the then-prince had an affair with Camilla.

Charles' special lady (following his separation from Diana) stepped out with him to a party at The Ritz, that was strikingly similar to Diana's famous "revenge" dress from the year prior.

Madame Tussauds has unveiled a new waxwork figure of Kate Middleton - with a touching tribute to Princess Diana. The Princess of Wales has received the full Madame Tussauds treatment, dressed from tiara to toe in the outfit she wore to the December 2023 Diplomatic Reception, alongside the rest of the royal family. It comes as the Prince, 42, and Princess of Wales, 43, celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary this past April. The newly unveiled figure features the princess dressed in a dusky pink Jenny Packham gown and silver pumps in the style of Gianvito Rossi 'Rania 105¿, with the Royal Family Order of QEII replica Greville Diamond Chandelier earrings. She is then donned with the Royal Victorian Order blue sash. But some eagle-eyed fans may notice that it has been topped with an exact replica of the signature Lover’s Knot Tiara. The tiara, from the Madame Tussauds London archives, was worn by the figure of Princess Diana in the 1980s, and pays a touching nod to the late and former Princess of Wales.

Prince Harry follows in Princess Diana's footsteps at Africa's largest minefield

By Isabella Bernabeo

Literally following in his mother's footsteps, Prince Harry, 40, visited Africa's largest minefield in southern Angola on Wednesday, taking part in a mine awareness safety class.

His trip comes 28 years after Princess Diana campaigned against landmines in the country in January 1997.

The British charity Halo Trust has been clearing landmines since 1988, allowing civilians and their children to walk and play freely, without the fear of past wars coming back to haunt them.

Prince Harry has previously visited Angola with Halo Trust in 2019 to help clear old minefields.

Meghan Markle shockingly posts cryptic ‘birthday love’ message as Queen Camilla turns 78

By Sarah Ng

A birthday gift fit for a queen?

Megan Markle posted a cryptic video Wednesday night on Instagram, showcasing a box of her As Ever wine along with the text, "Sending birthday love (both near and far) to my ladies."

While it's a mystery who the former royal is sending the gift to, Markle, 43, must have been aware she was posting the bday message just a few hours before her mother-in-law, Queen Camilla, turned 78 Thursday.

Some royal watchers online are assuming the box of rosé — which the Duchess of Sussex opens with a key in the video — is in fact for Camilla, calling it "an olive branch" amid Meghan and Harry's royal rift with the family.

We wouldn't go that far.

But it is worth noting that the two reportedly bonded over wine years ago when the former "Suits" actress met Her Majesty, before she and Prince Harry fled England and their royal responsibilities.

And just last week, King Charles and Prince Harry’s aides were spotted together for a secret meeting — the strongest signal yet that they may be ready to put an end to their years-long feud.

Markle made another, similarly strange choice related to wine and mothers-in-law's birthdays, launching her rosé on July 1 — the day Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, would have turned 64.

One royal expert called that move "calculated" and "dripping with symbolism.
