Prince William welcomes home first residents of his charity's housing project in Scotland
By Sarah NgOn a royal visit to Scotland, Prince William welcomed home residents to furnished housing Thursday as part of his Royal Foundation's Homewards program that aims to combat homelessness.

The project includes 31 newly furnished homes in Aberdeen, Scotland, that residents recently moved into, and others in five more locations across the UK.
According to the royal's Instagram post, the program hopes to "provide safety and security for new residents, but also foster a supportive environment that encourages longer tenancy and helps to prevent homelessness."
The Prince of Wales met with Homewards advocate Gail Porter prior to speaking with one of the residents inside her new home.

The Homewards program, launched in 2023, aims to solve housing issues by working with local homelessness charities, authorities and businesses.
