Prince Harry described Kate Middleton in 3 words when they first met — and revealed her 'heavily disguised' secret side

By Sarah Ng

Prince Harry recounted one of his first encounters with sister-in-law Kate Middleton in his memoir, revealing the three words he used to describe her.

Some time in the early 2000s, Prince William had told his brother to go a party with what Harry described as a rather "cringy" theme of "Natives and colonials," Harry, 40, wrote in "Spare," the book that rocked the royal family when it came out in 2023.

Kate, at the time William's new beau, helped Harry find a fitting outfit.

"She was carefree, sweet, kind," Harry said.

In a Newsweek feature on the aftermath of his mother's death, it was noted that "Harry seemed to be growing up without someone emotionally available he could lean on," as he was 12 years old at the time of the accident.

“Kate has helped fill some of that gap.”

Harry also waxed nostalgic in his autobiography about enjoying making Kate laugh and the connection he felt with her "heavily disguised silly side."

However, the royals in-laws' once-tight bond has been facing various tensions, including a heated conversation between Kate and Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, that took place leading up to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's May 2018 nuptials.

Since leaving his royal obligations, Harry has talked about his hopes for a reconciliation.

“There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,” Harry told the BBC in a recent interview.

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight anymore, life is precious.”

However, a royal insider says William is not interested. “When he becomes king, everybody thinks the divide will become even wider,” the source said of the Prince of Wales.

Royal bride reveals the most ‘disgusting’ part about her wedding, says husband ‘still gets upset about it’

By News.com.au

“Disgusting.”

That’s not a word you hear too often when it comes to the royal family unless it’s some anonymous Windsor source huffing down a Bakelite phone about Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest home shopping network juicer side-hustle.

Lord Freddie Windsor poses with his bride Sophie Winkleman in the Base Court, minutes after their wedding in the Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace on September 12, 2009 in Richmond upon Thames, England.
Royal bride Sophie Winkleman revealed how she didn’t pick out her own wedding dress, knew very few people at the reception, and that there was one detail she found “disgusting.” Getty Images

That or someone has left oat milk in the palace fridge again.

But not today with a royal bride having come out and given a shockingly (and wonderfully) candid interview, revealing she didn’t pick out her own wedding dress, knew very few people at the reception, and even admitted that there was one detail she found “disgusting.”

Prince William outlines his plans for Prince George's Duchy of Cornwall inheritance

By Nika Shakhnazarova

Prince William has unveiled plans to reshape the 700-year-old Duchy of Cornwall estate, aiming to transform it from a traditional revenue-generating asset into a powerful driver of social impact.

The Prince of Wales, 42, inherited the lucrative estate from his father, King Charles, in 2022 after becoming the heir to the throne.

Now, the future king says that he wants to use the Duchy as "another branch of his philanthropy" -- and will pass it on to his son, Prince George, with that mission very much in play.

"We're not the traditional landowner," William told the Telegraph. "We want to be more than that."

The prince maintains a hands-on approach when it comes to his role in the Duchy, and even pays regular visits there every four to six weeks, the outlet adds.

William said he has a mission to be "a positive force for good" -- and hopes, in turn, it will "make people's lives better."

He described himself as "unmistakably, a man on a mission: to reform his Duchy so it is fit for 2025 and beyond."

As heir to the throne, William was not involved in active conflict during his time in the military.

Charles, for his part, held the role for 31 years, and announced in August 2023 that William would be taking over.

By Nika Shakhnazarova

UK politician and President Trump ally Nigel Farage had an audience cracking up with a cheeky quip about sending Prince Harry to the US.

The outspoken anti-immigration campaigner couldn’t contain his laughter after making a playful jab at the Duke of Sussex during an interview Thursday at the Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas, Nev.

“In my country, we tend to be a little bit behind,” said the leader of the right-wing Reform UK party. “America has all the new ideas, they take a few years to cross the pond.”

“You send us many good things, and what you’re doing in this space right now, this administration is good,” Farage, 61, said. “You also send us bad things, because you sent us woke.”

The British politician then turned to the audience, pointing his index finger in the air.

“But you know what, we’ve got you back, because we sent you Prince Harry in return, alright,” he quipped.

Meghan Markle's bold 'rule' for 'every woman in the world' about baby names — with subtle dig at royal family

By Sarah Ng

Keep your friends close, but your baby names closer.

Meghan Markle alluded to tension with her royal in-laws when giving advice to expecting parents this week.

In the finale episode of her podcast, "Confessions of a Female Founder," Markle said choosing a newborn name was "not dissimilar to naming your company."

"I will say this to every woman in the world or every person in the world who's going to have a child — if you have an idea about what you are going to name that baby, you keep it so close to your heart, until that baby is born and it's named. Don't ask anyone's opinion," the Duchess of Sussex said to her podcast guest, Spanx founder Sara Blakely.

Meghan and Prince Harry had named their now three-year-old daughter Lilibet — the nickname of Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

Rumors have swirled over whether the late royal gave her approval on the name choice.

A spokesperson for the couple previously said to PEOPLE in 2021 that Harry "shared their hope of naming their daughter Lilibet in her honor. Had she not been supportive, they would not have used the name."

However, according to royal expert Robert Hardman, she was “as angry as I’d ever seen her” after Harry and Meghan released their statement about getting the queen's blessing.

‘Controlled’ Meghan Markle is ‘practically invisible’ to her Montecito community, neighbor claims

By Nika Shakhnazarova

Love thy neighbor?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s neighbor has claimed that they haven’t made an effort to “fit in” with their community ever since they planted firm roots in California following their 2020 royal exit.

Richard Mineards, a veteran local journalist, alleged that the Invictus Games founder is far more “approachable” than his Sussex counterpart.

Mineards recalled a particular incident where the “Suits” alum, 43, allegedly turned away a local elderly historian who wanted to gift her a copy of his documentary about the area.

“The old man never got past the gate,” he told Daily Mail, adding that the As Ever founder “doesn’t play the community game.”

In fact, Mineards said that Markle’s distant nature is the opposite to that of Oprah Winfrey — also a Montecito resident — who often “shows up at charity events.”
