Hollywood director Tim Burton and actress Monica Bellucci are heading their separate ways after nearly three years of dating.

The couple, who sparked a romance in October 2022, announced their separation in a statement to Elle France Friday.

“It is with much respect and deep care for each other that Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton have decided to part ways,” the statement read.

Burton, 67, sparked romance rumors with the Italian beauty, 60, in February 2023 by sharing a kiss during their Valentine’s Day walk in Santa Monica, Calif.

While the duo decided to remain tight-lipped about the nature of their relationship in the months that followed, Bellucci confirmed the pair’s relationship during an interview with Elle France in June 2023.

“What I can say … I’m glad I met the man, first of all,” she told the outlet at the time. “It’s one of those encounters that rarely happens in life … I know the man, I love him, and now I’m going to meet the director, another adventure begins.”

“I love Tim. And I have great respect for Tim Burton,” she said of the filmmaker, whom she has known since 2006.

During the course of their ill-fated relationship, Burton had directed Bellucci in the 2024 film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” — their first and only project together.

The duo’s final public appearance took place on June 14 at the 71st Taormina Film Festival, where Burton lovingly placed a kiss on Bellucci’s cheek in front of the cameras.

While the duo has been friends for more than 15 years, the pair was rumored to have kick-started their romance after the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon, France, in October 2022.

At the time, Bellucci attended the event as an honorary guest and presented the “Edward Scissorhands” director with the Lumière Lifetime Achievement Award.

Later that month, French outlet Paris Match reported that Burton and the actress initially met in 2006 during the Cannes Film Festival — but “got closer” behind the scenes of Lumière.

Burton was previously linked to British actress Helena Bonham Carter, whom he had dated from 2001 to 2014. The exes share son Billy, 21, and daughter Nell, 17.

The former couple first met on the set of “Planet of the Apes” in 2001, and went on to work on many projects together — including “Alice in Wonderland,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”

Bellucci, for her part, was previously romantically linked to artist Nicolas Lefebvre, from whom she parted in 2019.

Prior to that, she was married to “Black Swan” star Vincent Cassel from 1999 to 2013. The exes share daughters Deva, 21, and Léonie, 15.
