ABSTRACT:

“Stalker” by Faye Kellerman

William Morrow, 406 pages, $25

Faye Kellerman’s “Stalker” offers a fine psychological profile – but not of the novel’s criminal. Instead, Kellerman brilliantly portrays a complicated young woman who has followed in her cop father’s footsteps, but is desperately trying to step out of his shadow.

Ultimately, “Stalker” is a big winner because of Kellerman’s portrayal of the complex relationship between Cindy and her dad as they try to come to terms with being bound both by blood and the job.
