Academy Award-winning actress Mo’Nique will be on hand to announce the highly anticipated Oscar nominations later in January, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Tuesday.
The TV host, who won an Oscar for her role in “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire,” will join Academy president Tom Sherak at a break-of-dawn press conference Jan. 25 when nominations for 10 of the 24 categories will be revealed. The nominations for the remaining categories will be released online at the same time.
The 83rd Academy Awards will be presented in Hollywood on Feb. 27 in a ceremony hosted by actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
As Oscar fever heats up, the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced their own award nominations Tuesday.
“The Social Network,” “127 Hours,” “Black Swan,” and “True Grit” were among those nominated in the feature film category for the 22nd annual PGAs.
Writer and director Judd Apatow (“The 40-Year-Old Virgin”) will host the 2011 ceremony, which will take place in Beverly Hills on Jan. 22. The ceremony is not televised.
