LA LA LAND

THE series picks up where “La La’s Full Court Wedding” left off — with the news that La La’s new hubby, NBA forward Carmelo Anthony, is getting traded to the Knicks. Now, the newlyweds have to get used to being famous in the Big Apple. La La spends most of her time juggling marriage and parenthood. She also gets some career advice — acting and TV hosting are her day job — from boldfacers including 50 Cent, Serena Williams and Ciara.

TAMING BEST TRACKS

CAR commentary superstars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May return for Season 17 of the hit BBC series. In the premiere, they celebrate the 50th birthday of the Jaguar E-type by taking an $800,000 version of the car out for a spin and whooping it up with some Royal Marines. They also put a new Hummer through its paces in South Africa and pit a Mini rally car against British Olympic skeleton gold medalist Amy Williams. Rocker Alice Cooper is the star in the reasonably priced car.

THE JOY OF SEX

IF you’re expecting softcore porn, you’re looking at the wrong channel. This special, hosted by Maggie Gyllenhaal of kinky “Secretary” fame, is a scientific, in-depth investigation into the ultimate pleasure resulting from making the beast with two backs — orgasms. MRI imaging, ultrasound scans and a method of tracking sperm as it travels through fallopian tubes are used to try to figure out if there’s more to orgasms than merely being a fun bonus.

A ‘SECOND LIFE’

THIS doc takes a close look at the real lives of a handful of the people who spend their lives in a virtual 3-D world called “Second Life,” using online alter egos — a k a avatars. Among the profiles are a heartwarming tale of an American and Canadian who fall in love in cyberspace, but struggle to make it work in “meatspace” (real life) and an eyebrow-raising dude who believes that his avatar — an 11-year-old girl — is the expression of his subconscious.
