‘Diamond’ sharp
Renowned for its clarity and otherworldly blue color, the Hope Diamond is getting a new setting designed by the jewelers over at Harry Winston. The Smithsonian Channel celebrates the jewel’s legacy, from its discovery in the 17th century and its first sale, in 1668 by French gem merchant Jean-Baptiste Tavernier to King Louis XIV of France, to its donation to the Smithsonian Institution by Winston in 1958. The stone has many unique properties which have given birth to the alleged curse surrounding the one-of-a-kind wonder. It is claimed that throughout its long history, all who have owned it — or even touched it — have met great tragedy.

Keaton talks about her lost loves (Pacino, Beatty) and her two adopted children. Former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush discuss their time in the White House.
