Ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has asked Los Angeles County Superior Court to dismiss the petition he filed in August to divorce his wife, Perla Farrar, entertainment gossip website TMZ reported Monday.

In the divorce petition, Slash — whose real name is Saul Hudson — cited irreconcilable differences and asked for joint legal custody of the couple’s two sons, London Emilio, 8, and Cash Anthony, 6. He listed the date of separation as July 15, 2010.

At the time of the petition’s filing, sources told TMZ that the couple’s breakup was highly acrimonious.

The court still has to sign off on the dismissal request before the divorce petition is officially thrown out.

Slash left Guns N’ Roses in October 1996. He currently plays in Velvet Revolver with former GnR bandmates Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.
