The “Girls” will be back in town this January.

Season 2 of the controversial HBO comedy series is expected to premiere in January, series executive producer Judd Apatow said in a tweet.

That’s an extremely fast turnaround — the series premiered in April and only wrapped up its 10 episode Season 1 run this past weekend.

Despite averaging less than 1 million viewers per original episode, production on “Girls” is under way in Brooklyn.

“Halfway through shooting Season 2 now,” Apatow wrote on Twitter.

“Girls” came under fire for its startling lack of cast diversity — all the main characters on the show are white — especially considering it’s set in New York City.

Despite telling NPR that something she “wanted to avoid was tokenism in casting,” series creator/writer/star Lena Dunham seems to be trying to remedy the situation.

Last month, she was spotted on set shooting an episode alongside “Community’s” Donald Glover.
