Green Day is doing things in threes.

Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong announced that the band will release a three-album trilogy in the next year.

“Not 1. Not 2. But 3 albums,” Armstrong wrote on Twitter yesterday. “Called ¡UNO! ¡DOS! ¡TRE! Coming September November January.”

The albums would mark the first releases from the band since 2009’s “21st Century Breakdown.”
