GRETA GETTING BETTA
THE July cable-news ratings book was a good one for Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren and CNN’s Nancy Grace.
Van Susteren’s show, “On the Record,” netted its best numbers of the year, averaging nearly 2.2 million viewers at 10 p.m.
That was up a whopping 58 percent from Van Susteren’s July ’04 numbers, enabling “On the Record” to finish right behind FNC stablemate “The O’Reilly Factor” (2.4 million viewers) as the most-watched cable news show for the second straight month.
Over at CNN Headline News, Nancy Grace’s 8 p.m. show, “Nancy Grace,” averaged 656,000 viewers – up 230 percent over what aired in that timeslot in July ’04.
The 10 p.m. repeat of “Grace” was up 115 percent in viewers from July ’04.
Fox News Channel achieved its highest viewership of the year last month, averaging 1.9 million viewers in prime time.
“Hannity & Colmes” had a strong July (2 million viewers), as did “The Fox Report with Sheperd Smith” (1.5 million viewers).
