HBO plans peek behind XXX bizHBO has commissioned a new documentary series that will explore the ins and outs of the porn business.
The six-episode series, “Pornicopia: Going Down in the Valley,” has no air date set, but it will investigate the $10 billion porn industry centered in California’s San Fernando Valley.
HBO has a long history of airing in-depth documentaries about sex. Its long-running series “Real Sex” has been on the air for more than 12 years.
But it was Showtime that recently scored in the late night sex-reality genre with the well-liked reality show, “Family Business” that follows popular porno-maker Adam Glasser.
The show, created and produced by “Big Brother” producers Arnold Shapiro and Allison Grodner follows Glasser, his number-crunching mom Lila and his cantankerous, loony cousin Stevie as they run their production company.
Showtime ordered a second season of “Family Business” this summer.
