THE Democratic debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama drew 8.3 million viewers on CNN Thursday night – a new cable viewership record for a primary debate.

CNN broke its previous cable record – 4.9 million viewers who watched the Jan. 21 Democratic debate in South Carolina.

Thursday’s debate at the Kodak Theater in LA also shattered cable primary debate records across all demographics.
