DANNY DeVito now says he was “joking” about being drunk on “The View.”
“I know I was funny. But the idea was I was a little groggy,” DeVito told former Disney boss Michael Eisner Monday night on CNBC, DeVito’s first TV interview since his on-air crack-up.
“Well, I said, you know, I think it was the seventh limoncello that got me. But I was joking.”
The actor said he was still a little sleepy from taking a nap in the backseat of his limo before his “View” appearance.
He said that people mistook it for drunkenness.
He also said he called “The View” leader Barbara Walters when he returned to L.A.
“I said, you know . . . I’m not going to be feeling bad about it. I’m not gonna have any hard feelings,” he said.
