Ed “Jean Luc” Kleefield, whose four Hamptons eateries feed a good portion of the East End’s summer residents, is focusing on expanding his culinary presence in Manhattan.

Kleefield, whose restaurants include Madame Tong’s in Southampton, tells us he’s planning to reopen his shuttered Jean-Luc on Columbus Avenue as Mumbo Gumbo – a branch of his Cajun/Creole spot in Sag Harbor. He hopes to open by the end of September.

His second venue will open downtown in November, a few blocks south of Freedom Tower, with a working name of KG Café at Jean-Luc. It will feature the cuisine of recent “Hell’s Kitchen” contestant Keith Green, who is presently the chef at Kleefield’s JLX Bistro, also in Sag Harbor.

Now that chef David Burke has made a name for himself in Manhattan, he’s setting his sights on . . . New Jersey? Burke, of davidburke&danatella fame, grew up in Short Hills and will open restaurant.mc, at 57 Main St. in Millburn.

He’ll team with restaurateur and pal Marc Cooperman. The new venture, featuring Modern American cuisine with tapas-style plates, is expected by mid-October.
