KIDS’ Night on Broadway is kicking off its ticket sales this year with something new: a Broadway-themed karaoke contest.
The first 75 kids to sign up to sing show tunes will compete for CDs, tickets, posters – and the chance to perform at the Kids’ Night pre-theater party Jan. 30.
The karaoke challenge, performed before celebrity judges and an audience allegedly sprinkled with talent scouts, takes place Oct. 26 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Times Square Visitors Center, Broadway between 46th and 47th streets.
To compete, send your child’s first and last name, phone number and three Broadway song choices to kids@broadway.org. The contest will be broken down by age, with separate categories for kids 8-12 and 13-18.
Kids’ Nights, now in its fifth year, enables kids to see a Broadway show for free when accompanied by an adult with a full-priced ticket.
